In our classroom for the upcoming weeks


Newsletter to Grade 4/5

Students in grade 4/5 are still continuing to develop their learning skills while learning many strategies that will help them in the many tasks ahead as well as in their future. 

Grade 4- Students are finishing the Science unit on Rock and Minerals and also in Social Studies they are working on Ancient Civilisations. For  Rock and Minerals we will observe a variety of rocks and minerals and note their characteristics and properties before moving on to Light and Sound. For Ancient Civilisations the students will choose to study one Ancient Civilisation and a technology it invented. Grade 4 students are also collaborating with our grade 5 students to work on The Classroom Energy Diet Challenge improving their energy awareness and energy literacy through a variety of energy related challenges.

Grade 5- Students are finishing the Science unit on Energy. They learned about renewable and non-renewable energy and how to reduce our everyday energy consumption. Students are collaborating with grade 4 students in The Classroom Energy Diet Challenge improving their energy awareness and energy literacy through a variety of energy related challenges. In Social Studies grade 5 is learning about the first contacts between First Nations and Europeans in New France. The students started by looking into the First Nations arrival in Canada and also studying their way of life.
